I’m an avid gardener and really enjoy the Veg Club program, part of the Bainbridge Prepares Food Resilience Team https://www.bainbridgeprepares.org/food. I’ve got tomatoes and potatoes earmarked for Helpline’s “Plant a Row.”

I have two lovely children, grown and flown and living in Seattle and New York. They promise to be part of my parade float for the Grand Old 4th Parade, which brings me immeasurable pleasure! The current child in the house is Jack the Dog. He’s big, barky and adorable. We have a cat too, Poke (whom I’d never describe as a child.) Poke joined the family after a Humane Society “Kitty Hall” City Hall event.

My husband Dave and I enjoy crabbing in the summer. He baits and drops the pots, I pretend to pull and pretty much eat. It’s a perfect system.

In 2015, I was crowned Scotchbroom Queen. It was a defining moment, as my mother was more proud of me then, than when I graduated college. Hometown pride?

In 2024 and 2025, I worked for Kitsap County Elections as a ballot processor. My biggest takeway: The Elections Office is tight, secure, and a well-oiled machine. They don’t stop until they “get it right,” as many of you noticed when you were contacted about the signature on your ballot. Signature verification is a huge part of elections. I am very proud of Washington’s election process.
