Vision & Priorities
Waste Disposal (Garbage Services)
I support continuing service with Bainbridge Disposal under Washington’s Utility and Transportation Commission (UTC) regulation. They are a long-established local provider with a solid track record. State law (RCW) does not require the City to enter into a franchise agreement or assume oversight. That decision is entirely optional — a policy choice, not a mandate. Unless the City actively chooses to take over regulation, service can continue under UTC authority with no disruption to ratepayers or operations.
Housing
We need housing that works for Bainbridge: affordable, diverse, and in the right locations. The 625 Winslow Way proposal currently under discussion isn’t the right site for a large-scale housing project. Smaller projects are easy wins, and I look forward to the Comprehensive Plan updates that will make creative, small-scale housing easier to build. We can further support these solutions by reducing fees and promoting ADA-accessible design, ensuring that housing growth is both practical and inclusive
Infrastructure
With so much uncertainty at the federal level, we must focus on maintaining our infrastructure and keeping essential services strong. By working in collaboration with other agencies, we can ensure our city operates predictably and continues to meet the needs of our community.
Social Services
Now is the time to strengthen support for vital social services—childcare, eldercare, food and housing assistance, and more. With deep cuts to many federal programs, our residents need more from the City, not less.
